Flint River Hospital moving in a new direction Frank Schupp, CEO, of Flint River Hospital, LLC in Montezuma has announced a major change in the hospital’s ownership. A private, not for profit organization, Macon County Community Hospital, Inc (MCCH) was created with the intention of purchasing the hospital. Schupp said “A Finance Loan Application with the USDA is in the process of being completed for submission by MCCH. Ameris Management Services, Nashville, TN, began managing the hospital on January 1st and has been successful with the positive financial improvement of the hospital. The vast improvement would not have happened without the commitment of the employees, medical staff, and the board.” The current hospital board members have agreed to serve as the board of MCCH. Schupp stated “This will provide the opportunity for the hospital to be overseen by the local community through the Board of Directors. As a not for profit hospital the State of Georgia reimburses at a higher rate, grant opportunities and, affiliations with other not for profit providers. The hospital serves as a fundamental part in the medical needs in the community and integral component in working with local organizations and area government for business recruitment.” Schupp closed by saying “There are some very exciting new programs and additional Physician Recruitment plans underway which will be shared with the public as they develop. I am happy to meet with any organization, businesses, churches, who want to talk about the hospital by calling 478-472-3246.” |
